The Review | Origins Super Spot Remover

Origins Super Spot Remover, £13

So not long ago I did a post about a spot treatment from Clearasil (post here) and in all fairness, it helped when I first started using it but after so many weeks the spots were still there and I was getting really fed up of having constant spots popping up in the same area - my chin and for some reason, around my nose.

I was then browsing various blogs and I found a few posts dedicated to the Origins Super Spot Remover which is designed to help with blemish and oil control. It's in a tiny blue bottle, only holding 10ml and at £13 I personally thought it was pretty expensive for what you get, however, I haven't even used half of it and I must say I apply it like it's going out of fashion AND it's still going strong.

It's a gel formula which helps heal, fight and fade breakouts which is exactly what it does. The salicylic acid instantly helps with the healing process while the "anti spot technology" (god knows what that is) helps to correct post blemish marks. The caffeine and the red algae helps to relieve from redness and to help keep skin looking spotless it also has super exfoliators helping to eliminate excess oils and pore-clogging debris.

I usually dab a tiny amount on the affected area(s) as and when needed and let it do its magic. Obviously we can't expect miracles so the spot is still there in the morning however it is significantly dulled and reduced in size. But if you keep applying the gel daily, after a couple of days the spot has usually vanished. Because of it's gel consistency, it's very cooling and dries fairly quickly. It sometimes feels tingly and slightly tight, but personally I don't mind because I feel as if it's working.

The only problem I found was when I applied make-up afterwards, the make-up kind of  stuck to the area where I applied the gel. But to be honest, I think that is more to do with the fact I don't give myself enough time to get ready so it wasn't quite dry enough.

If you are looking for a good spot remover then I'd definitely recommend this baby!
Hope this helped  xxx

Beauty Blogger Tag

Happy December everyone! :D hope you are all as excited for Christmas as I am. For this post, I thought I'd do a tag just because I'm relatively new to the blogging world :)

Why did you start blogging and how long have you been blogging for?
I started blogging because it seemed like a really run way of finding out different make-up everyone loves and expressing my opinion of different products. It's also great getting to talk to new people who also share a passion for make-up just like myself! I started blogging a couple of months back, I think my first post was Tuesday, 16th October 2012 to be exact :D

Whose blog did you fall in love with first?
I think it was probably Vivianna Does Make-up. I love the way she writes and she seems to have similar tastes to me so I really value her opinions! I also love her YouTube videos.

What was the first blogosphere hyped about product you bought and was it worth the hype?
I had seen loads of posts dedicated to the Origins Super Spot remover and at that time my face was struggling with spots so I basically thought it was fate and bought it and I am SO glad I did because it works wonders! .

What are your favourite five things about blogging and being a beauty blogger?
1. I love that it kinda justifies my bad spending habits haha, If I buy something relatively expensive I just tell myself it's for blogging purposes and it gets me through!

2. I love finding out new products everybody is raving over and it's even better when I buy it and I completely understand why.
3. I love talking to other beauty bloggers about different make-up I'm loving and they're loving and sharing similar interests
4. I love being a beauty blogger because I feel I'm actually doing some productive in my spare time (although it distracts me from uni work)
5. And lastly, I love expressing my opinions

What have you learnt from being a beauty blogger?
I've learnt to shop around and try new things! I've learnt that different products benefit some people and not others so it's always best to try it yourself. I also find myself asking people who work at make-up counters for make-up that will suit my skin tone best and their best selling products and what they recommend etc.

Have you changed anything since being a beauty blogger?
Since being a beauty blogger I've branched out more with the make-up I use and I've learnt different techniques such as high-lightening and contouring - I never used to do that! I now also have quite a brush collection going on in order to apply my make-up correctly, but I'm still learning.

What advice would you give to a beauty blogger just starting out?
Write about stuff you would personally like to read yourself and about the stuff you love using at the moment or just love in general. Be friendly, and just be yourself really, so cliche haha.

Name your top five brands!
Nars, MAC, Bobbi Brown, Maybellene do the best mascaras and Origins

Recommend your top five favourite beauty products!
1 - A jolly good moisturiser that suits your skin type! I'm currently using one by Olay
2 - Origins Super Spot Remover - it's bloody fantastic! I wouldn't be without it
3 - I loveeeeeeee Topshop lipsticks, they all apply nicely and are pretty inexpensive.
4 - Bumble and Bumble surf spray! It makes your hair look kinda messy, but in a good way if you get what I mean.
5 - Essie nail polish - the formula works really well for me, lasting about 4-5 days.

Tag other beauty bloggers to do this tag!
I tag anyone who wants to do it :)
